Amanda Milius was born in Los Angeles. She went to the New School University in New York City for 5 years, during which she made two student films, studied philosophy under Dr. Claudia Baracci, and assisted the fashion photographer Sasha Eisenman, her friend and mentor, in Los Angeles and NYC.
Amanda is a photographer and writer working out of Los Angeles, New York, and London. She mainly shoots fashion and music, but does some music videos and various film and television projects. She considers "authenticity & faking it properly" her main objectives. Inspired by: "the uncontrived and beautiful, music, and the 70's".
She lists her influences as being:
Amanda bases most of her writing and personal favorite photographs off of friends, films, and past experiences. By the age of 23 she had a chapter devoted to covering some of her personal early life's exploits in one of Pamela Des Barres' ('I'm With the Band', 'Rock Bottom') books about "rock and roll culture".
Her writing credits include interviews in Doingbird magazine and Dazed and Confused, as well as published academic works under The New School University, NYC.
She intends to continue photographing and writing about "the weird world around her, the insane situations [she] finds herself in, and beautiful women, men, good bands, and whatever else falls in front of her or she falls in front of".
